Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos is published by the Center for Demographic, Urban and Environmental Studies at El Colegio de México. It specializes in analysis and reflection on population, urban and environmental issues of Latin America, with particular emphasis on Mexico, from a social science perspective. Since its inception in 1986, it has been one of the leading forums of discussion in its specialty areas. It is published every four months, and only in Spanish, but it always includes an abstract and the key words of the articles in English.
This is a scientific journal and in the Articles section, it mainly proposes the publication of theoretical reflections, methodological proposals and the results of academic research in its fields of interest. It also contains a Notes and Commentaries section that includes theoretical essays, accounts of academic events and methodological applications to specific data bases. It ends with a section of reviews of recent bibliographical publications on the issues with which it is concerned.
